She’s his sole purpose for being.

On Monday, I had the pleasure of speaking with Cyril from Symphony of Light and Winter by Renea Mason. Today, I have with me, Linden, the woman, who he says is his sole purpose for being.

Thanks for stopping in today, Linden.   I have to say, I absolutely loved your story, and especially after meeting Cyril the other day, this is such a treat for me.  So tell us a little about yourself.  What do you do?

Well, until recently I was a fundraiser for the most prestigious Orchestra in the city of Pittsburgh.  That was my life.  Now, I’m not quite sure what I’m doing.  Everything has changed.

That’s putting it mildly!  I can’t imagine what I’d do if I were in your shoes.  Now, Iet’s go back a bit. I need to ask, just how did you end up in the cemetery that day?  And why a cemetery?

Sounds strange all these years later, but I hung out there a lot.  My aunt… had issues and I didn’t have a car, so it was some place I could go where it was quiet.  I loved to journal and make up new songs.  It was ideal for alone time.  Not like anyone ever bothers you.  Well, most of the time anyway.

LOL!  You mean until a certain very handsome man appeared. ;) I met him the other day.  Tell us about Cyril?  I mean, there’s quite an age difference between you.   LOL!  What do you love most about him, and what just pushes your buttons in a good way and/or in a bad way?

When he’s acting like an ass, it’s hard to believe how old he is.  I really think age is the least of our worries.  You’ve read the book.

Oh yeah! :) When I talked to him, I think he was on his best behavior though.

It’s hard describe, but when I’m with him, I’m the pinnacle of his world.  It’s so much more than just being the center of attention.  One of the things I love most about him is how much he loves me.  Maybe that’s selfish but the intensity can’t be ignored.

No kidding!   He’s one serious dude! What about those buttons ;)

Pushing buttons.  Oh, he’s an expert.  I think he likes me best when I’m feisty so he works at bringing out that side in me. Sometimes he goes too far and things get messy.  I think he likes the challenge.  So many just do what he commands, I won’t give him the satisfaction.  I must say it makes for some great sex.

Speaking of good buttons.  I’m not all that experienced but…damn!  I can’t imagine it gets any better.

Okay, this guy is sexy as sin.  How do you not spend every hour of every day in bed with the man?

I’d love too and probably would if… I can’t really talk about that, can I? That would ruin everything.  But let’s just say if I had the opportunity to spend every hour in bed with him, I would.

But, honestly, I need to know.  He may not call himself a god, but holy moly, he sure ain’t your next door neighbor. ;)  You gotta tell me, is the sex out of this world?  It’s just us girls – I promise not to tell anybody else!

You’re gonna make me blush.  Oh, okay since it’s just us.  It’s beyond anything I thought possible.  He has this, umm, ahh, enhancement…  Think of the horniest you’ve ever been and the best orgasm you’ve ever experienced and then increase that tenfold, repeat and repeat and repeat again.  That might come close.  Maybe.  Now imagine that can happened for days on end.

Wow, is it hot in here, or is it just me?

Uh, nope, not just you.  (gulps)   Can I get some water please!!!  (looks around) Where the hell is my assistant?  Hey, you over there…go to person…can you please bring me and Linden some nice ice-cold water.  Thanks.    Ok (big sigh and refocus) do you see yourself with anybody other than Cyril?

How could I?  He’s so larger than life, there’s not room for anyone else.

Good point. Besides, I’m pretty sure he’d get rid of him somehow.  Hmm… Now, you’re a mortal, he’s not, will you live a full life like any other mortal, and he’ll just stay as he his forever?

Honestly, I haven’t had time to think about it.  Even since we met, well… met again, it’s been one thing after another. I guess that’s what will happen. Hummm… I guess we’ll have to have a talk about that.

What’s your greatest joy? And your deepest fear?

Joy?  Music and… Cyril.  My biggest fear?  That I’ll fail him when he needs me most.

Based on what he told me, honey, you have nothing to fear. Over your entire lifetime, what event strikes you the turning point in your life? And why?

I would have said all of the tragedy that occurred right before I left for college— marriage, being a widow, losing the love of my life but that was before Cyril returned.

The most pivotal point in my life was when I stood holding the knife in the concert hall. How does one recover from that?

No shit. Left him in a bit of a, what was his word, oh yes…predicament.  And what about his “family”?  Oh my, that group is something else.  How do they treat you?  Tell us about Overton.  He sounds like a very interesting man.  And I’m interviewing him next, so anything I should know?

Oh… the family.  We’re still getting acquainted.  Rhys is really fun and he manages to keep himself in check.  But Sinclair and Dominic, they make me nervous. Always eyeing me like I’m something to eat.   Moreaux is back from France and he has that same dark air about him. Thoresen, he’s so quiet and Overton…

I have a soft spot for Overton.  He’s really the only thing that has kept Cyril sane through time.  He’s so loyal and attentive to my needs.  Of all of them, I feel most connected to him.  It’s almost like he has a little more of Cyril in him, the good side of Cyril, not the overbearing pompous ass side of Cyril. (laughs)

I honestly, don’t know how I would have made it this far without him.

He certainly sounds like somebody you can truly count on.  And considering the position you and Cyril are in at the moment, I’m guessing you’ll really need Overton in your corner now.

Thank you, Linden for speaking with me today.  It has been such a pleasure to finally meet you.  I told Cyril that you were going to spill all his sexual secrets to me.  I’m not sure if he was worried or not.  He’s a little difficult to read.  Knowing the story, I’m not sure if I envy you or not.  You certainly have an interesting time ahead of you, I think.   Do you need more water?

For now, let’s give the readers a peek at Symphony of Light and Winter.

One woman. Seven men. All bound by one man’s undying devotion.

S of L and W coverFundraiser Linden Hill has a knack for reading people. She always knows which conversations will put a prospect at ease, which drink will loosen a patron’s lips—or his wallet, and how cleavage will make a donor sweeten the deal. She’s even foreseen her dateless weekends four hundred and sixty-four times in a row.

But ten years after watching life drain from her former mentor’s and first love’s eyes, her skills for divining the predictable are lost. When Cyril returns, he’s still gorgeous, but this time he’s beyond human, far less dead, and pissed. His lack of memory drives him to desperate acts, and his turbulent re-acquaintance with Linden pulls her into his war with a creature hell-bent on his destruction. His group of six supernatural men share a tantalizing secret, but despite the hunger, it’s love that leads her to sacrifice everything to save him…
