Each week authors from all over and writing in all genres bring you snippets from their work. It could be a work in progress or a completed piece. It could be published or not. But it’s only 8 sentences.
To catch up, please visit the previous snippet if you desire.
This is from one of my current projects - A Legacy of Lies. Jacob is trying to find his missing sister, Julia, and her best friend, Elissa, wants to help him. They are currently en route to where they think Julia may be. Well, Jacob is en route, Elissa has been following him.
Although we are still technically in Elissa’s POV for this week (next week we switch – promise! ), Jacob is FINALLY on the scene. Last week she was facing off with the nice gentlemen who have cornered her near Jacob’s vehicle. Boy, did I have to rework this a bit to fit it into 8 sentences! Hope you like.
A low menacing growl reached her ears and Elissa jerked her head to the left. A flood of relief almost succeeded in bringing her to her knees at the sight of Jacob stepping around the front of the Jeep, moving to put himself between her and the men—although he didn’t seem in much of a hurry. She chanced a look around his wide shoulders—they didn’t look too worried either.
“This is none of your business, asshole, it’s between us and the bitch.” With his friends crowding behind him, Baldy took a step closer, closing the distance between him and Jacob, bringing him within arm’s reach.
“I don’t think so.” A warning growl escaped Jacob’s throat, low and nasty sounding.
She watched the muscles in his neck and his arms flex, indicating he was about to leap out of his skin—literally.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
