Each week authors from all over and writing in all genres bring you snippets from their work. It could be a work in progress or a completed piece. It could be published or not. But it’s only 8 sentences.
Holy Moly! I almost forgot to prep my post for this week. I’m continuing from one of my current projects - A Legacy of Lies. This is actually book 2 in a series I’m working on. Jacob, the hero, is trying to find his missing sister, Julia, and her best friend, Elissa, the heroine, is determined to help him.
Last week, Jacob was a little distressed to find out he was stuck with Elissa for the foreseeable future. She’s not so bothered by the prospect.
This next eight immediately follows the previous eight. After she says “So, you’re stuck with me.” We are still in his POV. Rough draft only, unedited.
She didn’t know how on the mark she was. He scrubbed a hand down his face. “Elissa, how sharp are your senses?”
“Same as yours.”
He doubted that. If they were, she’d be all over him like static on a balloon after rubbed through hair–and charged is exactly how he felt. With any other woman, he might not mind that. But, the image of Elissa draped over his body, riding him hard, head back, her hair tickling his chest, crammed into his lust-filled brain and drained every ounce of blood to south of his waist.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
