snippetsunday

aaa-www

weekend_writing_warriorsveteransbadge_4Each week authors from all over and writing in all genres bring you snippets from their work.  It could be a work in progress or a completed piece.  It could be published or not. But it’s only 8 sentences.

So, I’ve missed a couple of weeks due to scheduling, family and work. And I’ve missed all of you!  I’m sharing another snippet from an anthology that I’m in, which was released just last week, and is doing quite well! :)  Eight authors, eight erotic stories, all based around one very unique circus.

My story, With the Greatest of Ease, is about one of the troupe’s trapeze artists, Lucia Palagrino, and her long ago partner Nicco Sarducci, who left the circus trying to get away from the family business.  But now he’s back.

Lucia is currently hiding in the shadows near her trailing, watching the welcome Nicco is receiving from his brother. She’s standing and talking with Andrei, another performer and a man she’s spent some time with, though only as casual lovers. Her heart’s always been with Nicco.

Anxiety filled her, swirled around in her tummy like a tornado. Since the day he’d left, she’d wondered what might have been. Once she found out he’d be returning, thoughts of seeing him again—images of him touching her, his tongue licking over every inch of her skin, kissing her until her lips were swollen but aching for more—pestered her until only self-relief allowed her to succumb to sleep at night.

He laughed. “Sweetheart, if you’d taken me up on my offer of marriage when I first proposed, you wouldn’t be in this predicament right now.”

She jabbed him in the stomach with her elbow.

“Ow.”

“The first time you proposed, you were ten.”

Oh, this has all the makings for a sweet and spicy story! I love the dialogue–and that last line is priceless. Who couldn’t smile after reading it? :-)

Love it! Congrats on your release. :)

  3. Jenna Jaxon

I’m not a fan of the circus, but I want to know more about her. She’s just enough sassy, yet I can tell she’s passionate as well. And as everyone else, I love the last line. :)

Oh, I love that last line. I like your circus theme too.

Nice! Love the circus theme. It’s clear she’s feisty. Men need a good challenge. Keeps them from getting too cocky :D

I’m with the others – that last line is wonderful! Really enjoyed the excerpt, the circus is a terrific setting.

  8. P.T. Wyant

*LOL* That last line is great! I can practically see an accompanying eye roll.

  9. sueannbowlingauthor

    Amusing interruption of her anxiety.

  10. Author Charmaine Gordon

Your writing always has this sensual aura with traces of humor I prefer. “Self relief” and why not but two strong arms are better. Thanks.
