#8Sunday #SnippetSunday: June 22, 2014

Each week authors from all over and writing in all genres bring you snippets from their work.  It could be a work in progress or a completed piece.  It could be published or not. But it’s only 8 sentences.

I’ve continued with A Legacy of Lies, my paranormal romantic suspense – a wip.  Jacob (the hero), is trying to find his missing sister Julia, and her best friend Elissa (the heroine) is determined to help him. My last snippet for this WIP can be read here.

Last week, Tagg teased Jacob about his relationship with Elissa. I’ve jumped a head a tiny bit to put us back into Elissa’s POV. She’s in the diner.

Elissa hurried and dried her hands on the course paper towel before she pulled open the restroom door, eager to rejoin her two travel mates.
She located an empty booth near the front bay of windows and slid across the cracked red-vinyl bench seat, coming to a stop a few scant inches from the wall. A bell dinged over the outer door, the tiny sound echoing through the half-filled diner, and a few seconds later both Tagg and Jacob joined her.
The football-player sized man squeezed into the booth across from her and settled in the middle of the bench, while Jacob hesitated at the end of the table for a long moment, glaring at Tagg before finally grumbling beneath his breath and sliding in next to her.
Tagg chuckled. “Have you ordered yet, sweetheart?” A low growl came from beside her. Tagg laughed louder.

Thanks for catching the typos, guys. This was a rush job and I didn’t review it well. 🙂 oops.

  2. Oh Tagg is having his fun, isn’t he? Loved it, all the subtext going on, also the great scene details! (Typo nit: coarse not course, re the towel, although I sure got the point 🙂 Excellent excerpt!

  3. siobhanmuir says:

Nice, Anne. Great way to show both his disdain for showing his attraction and his possessive response to Tagg. Nicely done. 😀

I like Tagg : ) Cute scene. I think course should be coarse : )

Hahaha…with behavior like that it won’t be long until she figures it out. I really can’t wait for these two to make it all official. 😀
