This was a childhood treat. My mom made these with leftover pie dough. It’s now a family tradition. Sometimes we skip the pie altogether!
Pie dough – use your favourite recipe for pie dough or use any leftover dough that you may have on hand. Amounts below are simply adjusted depending on how much dough you have to work with.
Roll out dough on a flat surface until thin enough to cover a pie.
- Spread softened butter over the top of dough in a thin layer.
- Cover with a layer of brown sugar.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon.
Roll up, shaping into a log.
Slice through the log in 3/4 to 1 inch pieces.
Bake in oven at 350 for about 20-30 minutes, until crust is flaky and starting to turn golden. Be careful not to over cook them. These are best when on the softer side.
Let cool and enjoy!
